During the first week of my residency with the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, the weather presented a vivid reminder of its revitalizing force through several days of rain. "Rain Swollen Creek" captures a moment on a local ranch where the normally dry creek bed burgeons with life, swelled by recent showers. This piece reflects the sudden abundance that rain brings to the arid landscapes of West Texas, much to the delight of grazing cattle and watchful ranchers.
