One of the great things about plein air events, is that I often find my self painting in conditions I wouldn't have ordinarily chosen with interesting outcomes. This morning at the Laguna Plein Air Invitational, my plan was to paint a sunrise scene (see the painting First Guard on my website) but the heavy fog squashed that plan and I saw this composition instead. The heavy blanketed of haze simplified the scene, which make this common view change entirely. So, here's to getting out to paint on foggy days!
