This Utah Juniper, growing on the edge of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon at Hopi Point, has been presiding over its view of the Colorado River long before those us currently on this mortal coil were born. It will likely continue it’s silent vigil long after we have gone as the Juniper can live up to 1000 years. That’s a lot of history bound up in its wizened branches.
Painted for the Grand Canyon Celebration of the Arts.
